Landscape and Turf Management students Avery Brandt and Benjamin Schlamp and instructor Doug Miller will be among the 45 volunteers assisting the grounds crew during the 2019 AT&拜伦·尼尔森冠军 May 6-12 at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas.
Volunteering at a major tournament is like a crash course in tournament prep and maintenance. Along with offering an unparalleled learning experience, volunteering provides students with a long list of other benefits, including the opportunity to network, experience an elite club’s operation, 并建立他们的rsamsamuans.
The club provides local hotel accommodations, transportation, meals, high-quality gear, and clothing. The work shifts typically begin with a start-of-shift meeting, during which jobs are assigned and volunteers are filled in on the plan of action for their shift. Volunteers are then welcome to stick around to watch some PGA golf on a course they helped prepare.
